Shooting Sneakers by the Seashore

Rack Room Shoes Titusville, Florida

Having photographed two locations for Rack Room Shoes in Tampa and Vero Beach last year I was excited when Full Circle Public Relations got in touch with me to photograph their new location in Titusville, Florida.

Florida commercial photographer – They needed interior and exterior images of the store shot once everything was all stocked and set up, but before it was open to the public. There was a narrow one hour window of time to get all of the shots before the doors opened. The crew were still stocking the shelves as I photographed details of the store. One the security system was up and running I was able to set up my tripod and capture sweeping panoramic images of the entire store.

A line of people was beginning to build at the door as I shot the final images of the team in Titusville. Once I wrapped up I downloaded everything to my laptop where I processed and uploaded the selects of the shoot for their same day media needs before I headed back to Tampa.

SCS Engineers Southeastern US Division – Atlanta, Miami, Tampa, and Boca Raton.

Commercial photography assignment with SCS Engineers in Atlanta, Boca Raton, Miami, and Tampa.

SCS Engineers is an employee-owned environmental consulting and construction firm that designs and implements sustainable environmental solutions.

Tampa commercial photography, I was contacted by SCS to capture environmental portraits, formal executive headshots, and working images of their teams in the office and in the field. The challenge was to find locations and backgrounds to create a consistent look throughout the various offices in Miami, Tampa, and Boca Raton, Florida as well as Atlanta, Georgia.

We got started close to home in the Tampa office. In order to accommodate everyone’s schedule we shot the headshots and portraits over two days. In between we shot images of the teams collaborating in the office and working in the field.

The office in Atlanta was much smaller and I was able to arrive early to get set up. Luckily I was able to capture everyone’s headshots and the onsite images before one of Atlanta’s rare snowstorms forced the airport to cancel all the flights out for the evening.

I was warned that Miami and Boca Raton would be the most challenging locations to work in. Both had outgrown their size and were in the process of moving or upgrading in the near future. But the show must go on, so we were able to work around everyone and found some great spots to work with.

In Miami we shot industrial photography of the team working onsite in a small patch of grass next to their building’s parking lot and hid the traffic and construction across the street using a work truck.

I scouted inside and out of the Boca Raton office and found a great spot to shoot the environmental portraits in a small courtyard outside. Power for the outdoor setup was provided by the new Vagabond Lithium Extreme battery by Paul Bluff. I replaced the standard modeling lights in my strobes with LEDs so they could run on the battery as well. It worked amazingly well and the outdoor portraits turned out great.

After a week on the road capturing formal executive headshots, environmental portraits, and team collaboration images inside the office and on location I was ready to go home and catch up with the family before processing all the great pictures we shot.

Not just pipe dreams at Wolseley Industrial in Lakeland, Florida

Industrial photography assignment with Ferguson Enterprises in Lakeland, Florida.

The Wolseley Industrial Group is the industrial division of Ferguson Enterprises based in Newport News, Virginia.

The production team at Ferguson contacted me for a photography assignment at the Wolseley Industrial Group location in Lakeland, Florida. They needed an industrial photographer with experience shooting with a video crew using hot lights to capture still images alongside of the video.

It was still dark when I arrived onsite. The First Unit Productions grip truck and crew where there ready to go as well. We all met up with the producer and DP from Ferguson who arrived from Virginia the night before. After a brief tour and overview of the Wolseley facility we unloaded film, video, lighting, and grip gear and went to work.

Once the sun was up we were all set up for the first shot of the day inside a large open area inside the shop. The crew was reluctant to be filmed at first. Once the cameras started rolling they just got to work and ended up having a lot of fun. After a long day in the heat of central Florida we got some great images of the facility and team.

Hitting the Gym in Boston, Naples, and Wilmington

Commercial Photography On the Road for Gym Source

Commercial photography assignment for Gym Source, the largest commercial distributor of fitness equipment in the United States. They supply exercise bikes, tread mills, and more for homes and gyms.

I was initially contacted by the marketing team at Gym Source to photograph two of their store locations on the east coast – Naples, Florida and Boston, Massachusetts. They needed interior images that showcased each of the spaces architecture as well as the range of fitness and exercise equipment on display.

Travel to Boston and Naples went we’ll and we captured some nice airy and open images of the interior spaces showcasing the uniqueness of each location. The images looked great – the following week Gym Source hired us to photograph a third location in Wilmington, Delaware!

Tasty! Taking shots at Tastykake Philadelphia

“Nobody bakes a cake as tasty as a Tastykake.” A snack favorite since 1914 and celebrated for their fresh taste and quality, Tastykake includes classics such as Krimpets and Kandy Kakes. They offer a complete line of snack cakes, pies, cookies, and donuts available in supermarkets and other retail outlets throughout the East, Southeast, and Southwest.

We were contacted to shoot a wide variety of industrial photography and manufacturing images for The Tasty Baking Company and Flowers Foods at the Tastykake production facility as well as various locations in the Philadelphia area. The images were produced to accompany a program for the Food Network (Unwrapped 2.0) as well as to create an image archive of the Tastykake plant’s capabilities.

Running from Vero Beach to Tampa with Rack Room Shoes

Rack Room Shoes Vero Beach and Tampa

Rack Room Shoes is an American footwear retailer offering a wide variety of brand name shoes for men, women, and children based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Tampa commercial photographer – Full Circle Public Relations initially contacted me when Rack Room Shoes opened a new location in Tampa. This time they needed some interior and exterior photography of their newest Florida location in Vero Beach. I arrived at the location around sunrise for some exterior shots before the store opened and parking lot filled up. I shot some exterior images showing the location’s space. Then, I shot a set of images to create a stitched panorama of the stores interior as well as some overall shots of the interior. Finally we shot a few portraits of the manager and team. I wrapped my shooting up before the store opened and had pictures ready for their social media that afternoon.

Mmm Coffee … Shooting Mars Drinks in West Chester, PA

Shooting above the clouds with Mars Drinks

“Rethink The Daily Grind.” Part of Mars Incorporated, Mars Drinks creates great tasting moments at work with five brands: KLIX®, FLAVIA®, ALTERRA®, THE BRIGHT TEA CO. and DOVE®/GALAXY® hot chocolate drinks. With U.S. headquarters in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and U.K. headquarters in Basingstoke, they employ more than 650 associates across 8 countries.

When Mars Drinks redesigned its global headquarters and business campus they contacted us to create exterior images of the newly designed facility. We shot the exterior architecture as well as captured aerial photography of the campus by helicopter. We later provided photographic coverage for the inaugural event.

For the previous two years we have also been responsible for covering the Mars Drinks global leadership conference which takes place yearly at the West Chester campus. We provide corporate event photography as well as capture business headshots of each member of the global leadership team.
